Rise Broadband FAQ

You have questions, we have answers.

Rise Broadband’s service is predominantly fixed wireless internet, but they do offer fiber internet service in a few cities in Texas. Fixed wireless internet operates similarly to satellite internet, in that it requires an antenna with a clear line of sight to a transmitter tower. Fixed wireless often is an ideal solution for broadband internet in rural areas where speed and choices are often lacking.

Like most other types of internet connections, your fixed wireless internet comes into your home via a data cable from the receiver (antenna). And like any other internet connection, you will need a gateway and a WiFi router (if the gateway doesn’t have wireless functionality) to be able to connect your devices.

No, Rise Broadband does not impose data caps on its fixed wireless internet plans. You can browse all you want without worrying about extra monthly data charges.

Rise Broadband is rolling out its fiber network as fast as it can to bring fiber to as many communities as possible. You can check here for updates on where fiber will be available soon.
