Holiday Movies on Netflix

Our Top Pick: Love Hard (2021)

Netflix is coming out with a ton of great original holiday movies this year, but one of the best we’ve watched so far is Love Hard. Starring Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O Yang, and Darren Barnet, Love Hard is a lighthearted romantic comedy about an LA girl who falls for a guy from the east coast on a dating app. After her many dating fails, she thought it would be different this time, but she decides to surprise him for the holidays— only to find out she’s been catfished.

  • Single All the Way (Netflix Original, 2021)

Holiday Movies on HBO Max

Our Top Pick: Elf (2003)

HBO Max isn’t short of any Christmas classics this year, but you really can’t go wrong with Elf. This hilarious and heartwarming flick stars Will Ferrel who plays Buddy the Elf. Buddy is an oversized elf raised by humans who travels from the North Pole to New York City to meet his biological parents.

  • A Christmas Story (1983)
  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)
  • The Polar Express (2004)
  • Four Christmases (2008)

Holiday Movies on Hulu

Our Top Pick: Happiest Season (2020)

Hulu has a great mix of originals and classic flicks this holiday season. Happiest Season is a holiday rom-com about wanting your family’s acceptance, being true to yourself, and doing your best not to ruin Christmas. Plus, it has a stellar cast starring Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, and Mary Steenburgen.

In the Queue:

  • The Man Who Invented Christmas (2018)
  • The Holiday (2006)
  • Miracle on 34th Street (1994)

Holiday Movies on Disney+

Our Top Pick: Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)

Packed with vaulted classics and new hit originals, Disney+ offers more than fairy tales. Released on November 19, Home Sweet Home Alone is a remake on the original Home Alone that spotlights a young boy defending his home from intruders. This time, instead of Kevin Callister, it’s Max Mercer who’s opposing the couple trying to steal a precious heirloom from his house. There’s even a cameo from Kevin’s big brother, Buzz!

In the Queue:

  • LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special (2020)
  • Godmothered (2020)
  • High School Musical: The Holiday Special (2020)
